Our client is a recently establishedOil & Gas production and exploration company. The company was founded in 2010 and has a vision to be a leading upstream company in Nigeria by 2015. The company has established interests in a number of substantial producing oil and gas assets in Nigeria
and will seek acquire further oil & gas assets both within and outside Nigeria in the future.
The company is currently growing its organization to deliver on its exceptional and challenging strategic plan. In order to achieve this, we are now looking to recruit a number of high calibre individuals to perform a number of key roles in the organization.
The opportunities listed below outline some of the roles available for candidates with proven track record in the oil & gas industry, a reputation for being motivated, driven and dedicated to the success of the business.
IT OFFICER (ES022)
The successful candidate will have responsibility for hands-on management of the network and servers, software and hardware and their safety, rights of access and security of computer operations. This role encompasses liaison with the Group IT team and vendors in delivering optimum IT support to the business
KEY REQUIREMENTS
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science of any relevant discipline from a reputable institution
Preferred candidates will have a mixture of accounting systems experience in a mixed Apple/Windows environment as well as a strong understanding of Cloud-based infrastructure.
Relevant professional certification(s) will be an advantage
A minimum of two (2) years cognate experience in a similar function.
Successful candidates for all roles will work in a mufti-disciplinary team and will require good IT, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, combined with excellent organization and team working skills, drive for excellence and a passion for success.
COUNTRY FINANCE HEAD (ES012)
Reporting to the Group Finance Director the successful candidate will have overall responsibility for providing excellent financial leadership and business support for the company’s operations in Nigeria. A key component of this will be to work closely with bank partners, as well as the Group Finance team on finance accounting and control strategy, and policy implementation.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
A good first degree in Accounting or any Finance-related disciplines from a reputable institution. Relevant professional qualification(s) i.e. ACA, ACCA, CFA.
A minimum of fifteen (15) years’ relevant experience within an exploration and Production Company as well as a top accounting firm.
Strong finance, accounting, tax, treasury and control skills. Deep IFRS and statutory reporting experience, as well as experience negotiating and executing debt and equity transactions.
NIGERIA FINANCIAL CONTROLLER (ES014)
Reporting to the Country Finance Head, the successful candidate will oversee the finance and accounting activities to optimize and control operations. In particular, he/she will have direct accountability for the coordination and execution of financial related activities in the business in order to assist in the proper financial management and reporting of the Nigeria Operations.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
A good first degree in Accounting or any Finance-related disciplines from a reputable institution. Relevant professional qualification(s) i.e ACA, ACCA, CFA.
A minimum of Ten (10) years’ relevant experience, including 6 years’ experience in joint venture / project accounting in the oil & gas industry, and preferably from a Big 4 accounting firm.
Strong finance, accounting, control and reporting skills.
LEGAL MANAGER (ES018)
The successful candidate will work with the Group General Counsel in providing general legal advice for the Company’s operations and joint venture businesses, including ensuring compliance with corporate legal polices, local and international laws and regulations and partner agreements.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
A good first degree in Law from a reputable university with a Master’s degree in Law a distinct advantage. Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association or its equivalent is essential.
A minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years experience in the commercial legal practice and / or an exploration and production company.
Strong experience negotiating, drafting and advising on upstream commercial agreements
FINANCE, TAX AND TREASURY MANAGER (ES015)
Reporting to the Country Finance Head, the successful candidate will have direct responsibility for implementing strategies to manage the overall liquidity position and tax exposure of the company.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
A good first degree in Accounting or any Finance-related disciplines from a reputable institution. Relevant professional qualification(s) i.e ACA, ACCA, CFA.
A minimum of Ten(10) years’ relevant experience, including 3 years’ experience in finance, taxation and treasury within the oil & gas industry
Strong appreciation of treasury operations management, as well as Nigerian tax laws and requirements.
COST CONTROL AND AUDIT MANAGER (ES016)
This role will lead the implementation and continuous improvement of a reliable audit and cost control framework. In particular, the successful candidate will ensure compliance with established policies, procedures and standards, as well as monitor the adequacy of internal controls within business and financial processes and operations..
KEY REQUIREMENTS
A good first degree in Accounting or any Finance-related disciplines from a reputable institution. Relevant professional qualification(s) i.e ACA, ACCA, CFA.
A minimum of Ten (10) years’ relevant experience within the oil & gas industry in an audit capacity.
JOINT VENTURE AND PROJECT ACCOUNTING MANAGER (ES013)
Reporting to the Country Finance Head, the successful candidate will have primary responsibility for coordinating and managing joint venture and capital project accounts. Inherent in this will be the ability to anticipate and minimize financial risks and costs through the availability of accurate and current financial data.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
A good first degree in Accounting or any Finance-related disciplines from a reputable institution. Relevant professional qualification(s) i.e. ACA, ACCA, CFA.
A minimum of Ten (10) years’ relevant experience, including 6 years’ experience in joint venture / project accounting in the oil & gas industry.
Strong knowledge of joint venture accounting and reporting standards, including cost allocation, cash calls, financial analysis and reporting.
ACCOUNTANT-JOINT VENTURE, LARGE OPERATED ASSET (ES017)
Reporting to the Joint Venture and Project Accounting Manager, the successful candidate will have primary responsibility for all financial and accounting aspects of the Company’s operated joint venture assets.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
A good first degree in Accounting or any Finance-related disciplines from a reputable institution. Relevant professional qualification(s) i.e ACA, ACCA, CFA.
A minimum of five (5) years’ cognate experience, including a minimum of two (2) year’s experience in the oil & gas industry.
LEGAL OFFICER (ES019)
Reporting to the Legal Manager, the successful candidate will support the work of the legal team and in particular, provide hands-on legal advice in connection with the Company’s day-to-day operations. This includes drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial and operational contracts.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
A good first degree in Law from a reputable university with a Master’s degree in Law a distinct advantage. Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association or its equivalent is essential.
A minimum of two (2) to four (4) years relevant work experience in a reputable law firm, and/or the oil and gas industry.
PROCUREMENT OFFICER (ES020)
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the Company’s procurement strategy in order to achieve optimum quality maximum cost effectiveness whilst ensuring quality. A key function of this will be co-ordinate, source and facilitate the prompt purchases to support the activities of the company.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
A good first degree or equivalent from a reputable institution. Professional qualifications in purchasing and supply will be an added advantage.
Minimum of four (40 years’ relevant experience in a similar function in a reputable organization
Practical and proven experience in analyzing contracts, and handling negotiations
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT/GOVERNMENT RELATIONS OFFICER (ES021)
The major focus of this role will be to develop and manage relationships with relevant stakeholders and policy makers. Key part of this will be facilitate meetings / consultation with key government personnel and other stakeholders, and track events and official activities affecting the company’s operations in Nigeria.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
A good first degree or equivalent from a reputable institution.
Minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience, including exposure to managing relationship with key government stakeholders.
Excellent knowledge of the oil and gas industry policies in Nigeria and ability to integrate them into business development.
